i have a 02 recon es and i was wondrin what kind of mods u guys have on yours. mines completely stock for. i was gonna get a k&n filter and maybe a T4 pipe. any posts will help.

 

K&N with Outerwears and an FMF MegaMaxII muffler, and of course a rejet. Perked the little bike up quite a bit!

 

The first thing I bought for my Recon was a maire skid to protect it's belly. Well worth it. There's not alot you can do with a Recon compared to other models.

Look up some stuff for the 250ex. Pretty much all the engine, pipe, and filter mods that you can put on those can also be put on the Recon. I'd say skids first, then a K&N, T-4 and rejet. Then some stuff like wheel spacers.

 

also what 22-10/9,22/7-11 tires work well?

 

In the 2002 ATV Sport buyer guide, they have the stock hp of the 250ex being 11.9. The Recon is probably about the same since they have the same motor. (Might be a little different.) I didn't change the muffler or jetting on my Recon. The top speed of my Recon was 47mph.
There aren't alot of tires to choose from for the Recon because of the stock rim sizes. You could change to a different rim size. I really liked the stock tires on the Recon. I thought it went pretty good with them on.
You could also put a speedo or winch on it.

In that article, they had the stock 300ex at 13.6, Warrior at 18.3, 400ex at 26.5, and a Banshee at 40.5 to name a few.

 

Cheap trick, your air intake pipe under the gas tank open the little hole in the end up to the size of the tube you may have to go to a 100 main. Do not ever use a K&N filter for anything other than a paper weight they flow to much dirt. I got a 2003 Recon here, I will let you know soon if a DG big O exhaust will bolt up to it. I have put them on the 250EX and they work real good.
