Default The EX looks like to be unhealthy

Hi again, 2 weeks ago, I took the engine out of my 300ex. I made about 1 kilometer to my friend house without the exhaust pipe. We tore the quad apart to paint the frame, check everything and.....

Anyway, I rode it last week, It seems It don't have a lot of compression anymore. It's less fast than before (Yeah I know a 300ex is not fast). It's now having problem to wheelie. And the worst problem is that it's not decompressing too much by now (Is decompressing the good word for when you downshift to brake? (Sorry I'm french)). And the worst part is that I'm wide open in 5th, I press the clutch, downshift in first, stop the engine, realease the clutch and the wheels don't even JAM !

I can't either move it when it's in gear, stopped and pressing the clutch

What's going on?

Sounds like you didnt get the clutch cable back on and adjusted right. A slipping clutch could do what you are describing I guess.

That what was I was thinking about. Either the rings (I haven't touched them ) or the clutch. I can I really confirm this? And BTW, can my clutch fade faster that way? I have rode it about 1 day like this. Thanks

Okay, you ran your quad for a day with just a header?????? Well you need a swift kick in the gonads for that one......hopefully you burnt the rings up for being a dumbass. I'm guessing that's why you lost compression......

And let me get this straight?! You rip through the gears until your in fifth, then put it down into first while going at a 5th gear pace, and dump the clutch??????? WTF would possess you to do this!? This is not good for the machine?! Especially with no muffler on the dang thing!!!! I think you just need to part the 300ex and go back to riding Big Wheels.......

hey JCV calm down. First, for the downshifting in one thing, I stop the engine first And I only did that to see if I lost compression since it's normally jamming the wheel. And of top of that, I did it in the sand. Second, Read this " made about 1 kilometer to my friend house without the exhaust pipe." Is this meaning one day? No, It means 2 minutes at low RPMS.

So, what do you think about this?
