I think there is all ready a mindset on that issue and I can see why. Just last weekend in our area for every rider that rides reasonable it seems like one is following that is going crazy right in front of you so I can see why the public views are sport as negative.

I saw this. If he can handle a warrior the 400ex will only improve his skill.

Zipzap, my 6 year old daughter can ride one too. That doesn't make it safe and also doesn't mean she is allowed to ride it. You asked the question and I'm giving you my opinion. I know at 12 it would be cool to have the bragging rights of having the fastest and biggest quad, but you have to think of the consequences.

I've seen 35 year old men ride worse than my 10 year old. And yes he rides a 400.

I don't think it's a matter of can he as much as a matter of should he.

The guidelines for Youth ATV's are incorrect.

I don't understand. Is your point like the government banning 3 wheelers. I've also heard that quads are just as dangerous as 3 wheelers. Maybe no one should ride quads. Maybe we should all stay at home where its the safest. But I do realize, on average, that a quad is in safer hands with an adult than a minor. My point is it has more to do with ability and responsibilty than age. I know my son would have grown out of a 300ex in about a week.

The kid can got to the Honda shop and buy a CR250, but not a 400ex.
Its a decision that should be made by the parents. If your parents are not in the know, then you shouldn't be riding a 400ex.
