I'm not sure how much you pay for the honda oil but you can go to Autozone and get Valvoline's new atv oil or motorcycle oil in 10-40 or 20-50 for $2.99 a quart....good oil...... I buy Yamalube 4 20-40 at my dealer for $2.50 a quart........

I have always used honda oil, but i'm pretty sure it's more expensive, prolly something cheaper that works just as good if not better that's cheaper, but I don't pay for it so price doesn't matter for me.

A lot of people run Mobil 1 15w-50 synthetic. The jug with the red cap. I've been running it for about two years. Some will say your clutch will slip for some reason or another, but it won't. You can buy a gallon of it at Wal-Mart for around $20. It'll actually make your quad run cleaner, smoother, and cooler.

I use red line synthetic at the reccomendation of my mechanic. I change the oil and filter every third trip. Gets expensive at 11 bucks a quart but I want to make sure I use the best

Honda HP4M Synthetic/Petrolium blend with Moly. I have read that there are advantages AND disadvantages to both synthetic and petrolium oils. Why not then run a BLEND, and get the BEST OF BOTH WORLDS???? It IS expensive, but so was your bike!!

Thats what we do to our lawn mowers...but ours are not honda. They usually last 3-4 years. Not because the engine gives out, but because the self propel will tear up or something like that.
