Hondapride,
The K&N will give you a good performance gain, but if you live where it is really wet and muddy throughout the year, a Uni filter would probably be better. Whatever you decide to do, remember that the K&N will probably be okay with an Outerwears cover. I have the K&N with the Outerwears cover on it, and it was hard to believe how much of a performance gain you get from an air filter! Just make sure you keep it oiled, and clean it regularly!

I have a uni and didn't notice any performance gain but when i just removed my intake boot it was clean as a whistle. but my freind who has a fully moded 250r used uni for a long time on his xc bike (he also has a fully moded mx 250r)and he said that he could take the filter off and feel dirt in boot now he uses K&N and outerwear and no probs I wish I would have knew this before cause i would have got K&N so i say go for the K&N outer wear set up.
