On the Foreman 450 (S or ES makes no difference to me), what's the first year they added the Traxlok system instead of all time 4x4?

The last year for the fulltime 4x4 was 2001. They added the selectable 2 to 4 wheel drive on the 2002 models.

 

I think Honda also recalibrated the front and rear shocks and changed the front differential in 2002. Honda changed the speed sensitive clutch style differential (power to tire with least traction) to a torque sensitive, clutchless limited slip (power to the wheel with the most traction).
