Default a few 250r questions

As soon as I pay of my warrior im thinking of selling it and buying a faster quad. Since i dont have a lot of money I will use the money I get from my warrior into the new quad. I heard the 250r is a great jumper and a good motorcross bike. Ive been to a track and i absolutely loved it even though my heavy stock warrior was no match. Anyways i was wondering if it takes alot of maintnance and a lot of time to take care of of one. Thanks in advance.

Yeah and no,

The entire time I've had my 250r I've had no problems with it, you do have to be more careful obviously since it's a 2 stroke - each weekend
I make it a habit to check my spark plug to see what color it's burning to see if I'm too rich or lean, but I've never had to adjust anything
since it's always been good. Also, they're a bit touchier than 4 strokes. The idle is touchy on the 250's but once you get that right
you shouldnt have problems. All in all, all I really have to do is make sure I mix my gas and oil just right, other than that nothing has
broke on me yet. It's just easier to get into trouble on a 2 stroke than 4...

I'm sure if you get a 250r you'll absolutely love it, it handles great at high speeds and it's extremely quick. The bike is pretty light too
and mine has a steel frame. When I got mine, I loved drag racing against cars, other quads, etc as much as I could. It's a really fun
bike. My entire life I've ridden 4 strokes, and to be honest, I was afraid to 4th gear with it unless I was on a smooth straight, seriously,
the 250 is real real fast. Now I can't see myself ever owning another 4 stroke....

Default a few 250r questions

the 250r IMO is an awesome jumping machine - wheelie's are a different story on a 2 stroke, it a bit touchier and an R would sooner
dig a rut with the tires than let em grip and bring the front end up. We all know how easy it is to wheelie a four stroke and we
know on a 4 stroke we can bring the front end up at almost any given moment regardless of speed/rpm etc - but from what I noticed
the R isnt like that, if you jump the clutch in low rpm's on gravel or dirt, it will more less dig a hole and kick dirt up. The way I do it is
I have to be in say the middle or top end of my current gear - then it works best because you also gave the best throttle response
during this time. If you like wheelie's, you'll like the r's power and acceleration on something stiff like clay or black top. I can bring
up the front end in 1st thru 5th gear with little or no effort. the way I have my gears / tires adjusted, my power band lasts up
until about the higher end of 5th gear, but not in 6th which is fine with me.

for me practicin wheelies was hella scary! i was amazed as to how fast that front end comes right up when you get it right...too fun
IMO it's easier to keep the front end up once you've got the balance than a thumper tho...maybe thats just me....

once you start riding it - youll see how light of a machine it is
