Utah question

I don't know for sure but I believe you pay sales tax depending on where you live and register the ATV. That was the way it happened when we bought our truck from Idaho. They didn't charge us sales tax in Idaha but when we got home and registered it we were charged sales tax. My guess would be it would be the same for you if you are charged sales tax in Wyoming.
I don't know if this helps you or not......

This is an interesting situation. Typically, if you live in another state, you pay taxes when you register it... ie, the seller can not charge you sales tax.
When I bought my bike... it was second hand, I also got the original literature with it. Like you, he had gotten the bike in another state. Oddly enough, the invoice was made out for around half the value of the new bike.. what happened to the other half you ask.. I found the invoice for "Rider Training" and it was for approximately the other half.. Kinda tricky, but smart.
Good Luck.

There is no registration for atv's in wyoming unless you want it licensed to drive on paved roads. We just have to buy a $15 off road sticker that is purchased at a convenience store. I bought a new atv in montana this past summer. (no sales tax in montana) I financed it through my local bank. They requested a title from the county I live in. I got a bill for $250 ($5,000 outlander) so the bank could have a title. My next purchase will be financed through honda. I am hoping to get around the sales tax. ($385 tax for rincon) I already pay enough taxes in my county.

Yes I did. They seemed to have the best price of all the dealers I called. However, Summit Honda in Park City had a $3000 rebate on 03 Rincon's. They ran out of 03's so they carried the offer over to a 04 for me. There's a small catch on the rebate and that is it cannot be redemed for 47 months. You may want to at least call them and find out the details and if they are still offering the rebate. Plus they are a little closer to Wyoming than Steadmans.
