Honda 350 Rancher Backfires
#1
I have a 2001 Honda 350 Rancher 4x4. I did the routine maintenance about 3 weeks ago ( adjusted valves, changed oil & filter, Cleaned airfilter) also fixed the sticking choke. The honda o-ring on the end of the choke cable was shot so I went to the parts store and got one that fit pretty close but not as tight as the honda one. It started up and ran fine for the past couple of weeks. However this week it got down below freezing and stayed for a few days and now the thing will just spin over and act like it wants to fire but dies immediately.. sometimes when I let off the starter it backfires very loudly. I've looked at the spark plug and its black with soot. Could that o-ring be letting air or fuel by, or causing a vacuum leak? Ive tried starting it with the air filter off as well and had same problems.. it backfires with or without the choke cable being pulled. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated thanks!!

Well guy you foulded you plug and you cann't replace the flapper on the choke plugger with a o ring it has a flap on it to seal just replace the starter valve comes as a kit. Also did you reoil your air filter seen it too many times that ppl don;'t and don't use motor oil it just runs off use the Honda oil filter oil that's what works the best. good luck
