Yeah, go for it. I don't know how long the keeping it stock thing will last though Who told you the Warrior feels like a 250?? Oh well, the EX is a good choice and it's gonna be my next one too. Don't worry about people telling you they're underpowered. The 400EX may have less power than.....about 9 or 10 different quads in production. There are tons of others that it can outrun.

Wow, I started out riding Trail Boss 250's (they now call them Trail Blazers!) I remembe when my buddy let me get on his 400EX for the first time. I was grinnin' ear to ear. Couldn't believe the power difference.

For me the EX was just too small 6'2 225#. I have the DS and love it.

I suggest sitting on many bikes. Which one is more comfortable?

We ride the sand mountains so we need the extra power the DS has but, the EX on packed surface / hard ground is plenty of power.

If you want to drag race and win you may want more power but, I like the EX for simplicity. I think a larger oil storage is a good mod. As for pipes, ProCircuit is probably one of the most reasonably priced and offers good power gains. If you are thinking you are going to modify for more power I think you are wasting your time with the EX. The bigger bores or the new 450's have too much even for a modified EX.
