"outerwears wears thin on my 400ex"

Got a question why did the k&n outerwears filter skin wear holes in it ?looks like the air box has a platform that the stock air filter set on needs removed ,have any of you had this problem?

Mine did same thing.Put a little dob of silicone on ledge and let dry.acts as a rubber bushing and doesnt easily wear out outerwear plus by retaining ledge it sill helps hold filter in proper place.

Thanks I'll try that,I sure like how the k&n breathes,I also still run the stock one in the bug dust an give the k&n a rest.Bug dust is the finest dryest stuff you ever seen it's like flower or sevin dust for you garden. Actualy it is "dry aluvium"that's what the geoligist at the mine said it was
