I have a 250x with a 12:1 piston,Web Cams #254 cam,full Supertrapp IDS exhaust and a K&N filter with no airbox lid.I am currently running the stock carb with the needle raised 1 notch and a 130 main jet.It really flattens out at high rpm's.Is it possible that my stock carb is not letting my engine reach it's full potential?Do you think a stock 400ex carb would be a good upgrade for it?

 

Anyone have any input on this?

 

Yes, if it is flattening out and loosing ***** on the top end a bigger carburetor will help. Does the 250x have the same sized carburetor as the 300ex? If not, what size is it?

 

Yes,it has the same carb as a 300ex.

 

You could probably try it out. There are probably plenty of 400ex carbs laying around, so I wouldn't expect them to be expensive. Maybe someone else here has some more experience on this?

 

I think I am going to try the 400ex carb.I have seen several on Ebay pretty cheap.Thanks for your replies.
