A 250R will not smoke a banshee, Two heads are always better than one. A 250R is an excellent MX bike where a banshee is the ultimate duner therefore I like the bottom end on a 250R and love it for woods riding but in a drag or open area I would take the banshee anyday even over the DS650. As for will Cannodale and Yamaha taking the spotlight? I believe they will after people realize Honda is not going to build another one and as the bike gets older and people have options the desire for an R will die. The reason it is so popular now after 11 years is because the consumer had no choice for an MX bike other than a banshee with suspension and gearing mods. It should be interesting to see what happens, I am sure the Raptor, Cannondale and DS will be the talk and shootouts for many months before Honda decides to take a step back in the race. Hopefully Kawasaki will release their 250 Quad and lead Honda to return the 250R. But with R&D cost a new R or Kawasaki bike would cost just as much as the Raptor or DS, where many people would go with the cheaper and larger big bore 4 strokes.

I have herd that honda is comming out with a 600cc
bike in the near future.
The 250r has more bottom end then the 350 Banshee,
but the banshee has more top end.

Like everyone else said, the Banshee is faster in it's environment. Unfortunatelly, I think if Honda does produce a quad with the 600 or 650 cc engine, it will still be down on horsepower compared to the Raptor.

i agree the reason why every one buys a 250r to mx race it (including myself) is because U only have one other choice the banshee (or the 400ex) and the 250r has way more lower end power than the banshee but a stock banshee wil smoke a stock 250r in a drag and in the dunes to (with a good rider)but do I think people will start liking thew 4 strokes better than 2 on a mx track NO I think all it will do is spark new interest in people that quit atv racing or wanted to start atv racing like the 400ex did.

I think the 250R's will always win on a MX track. Flat track it's a toss up. Dunes is Bansheeville. Drags is Banshee. Fire roads is a toss up. Open desert is Banshee. Woods is 250R. All of these pending same riding ability. I could beat my friend in the dunes with a Blaster with him on my Banshee. He just plain sucks at riding.

look at the aftermarket parts available for the 250R today...it isn't going to die anytime soon..and I'd venture to say that only a small fraction of 250R owners Mx their machines, (I do not) and a 250R will smoke a banshee, it all depends on mods and rider skill. The 250R isn't going to leave the ATV scene for a long time to come.
