Default bought foreman 450es today

I just signed the papers on a leftover 03 foreman 450es today. I almost bought a Polaris Sportsman 500 but was scared off by alot of negative posts. I bought the 450 for $5099 plus sales tax I think I got a pretty good deal. I hope I made the right decision. I'm sure I will have a million questions in the future. I work in precision sheet metal so I'm sure I will be laser cutting some a-arm guards and skid plates in the very near future. I will have to pull the originals off to take some dimensions for them. I'm not sure wheather to make them out off .080 diamond plate aluminum or some .187 alum sheet. I can get a 60" cycle country manual plow setup for $400. I can also get a 42 month extended warranty for $299. What do you think?

Congrats!!!

I think it's a great machine. It's very durable, and it has all the power I've ever needed for hauling firewood (trailer and dragging tree trunks). I've got an 02 Foremans S. I have not done any modifications to mine, but the gaurds and plates you mention sound like a great idea! If you get a chance, please post any thoughts or design ideas on the topic. I don't have access to a laser cutter (very cool!), but I do have acces to a plasma cutter and mine wouldn't need to look pretty Any info or ideas as you make them would be very helpful.
Great Choice! It should last a very long time, and not let you down.
Happy Holday Riding

Not a big honda fan, probably because I have never owned one, but I ride the mountains in Colorado with a buddy that does. He has a 2000 Honda 450 ES. Absolutely no problems.

Ride with confidence and enjoy.

Oh no, you didn't get a Foreman did you? I guess you never heard about the problem with the........ Ok, I'm just kidding. Congratulations on your purchase! Hope you have good luck with it. Did you get a total Out the Door price? Just watch they don't try to add other cost to the list other than what you want. Is the price around $5594. with the tax? (Before any extras like plows or an extended warranty?)

I don't usually buy the extended warranty but others have had good luck with them. (I guess) -The warranty doesn't cover everything and sometimes it has to be proven that Honda was at fault. Honda is decent when it comes to warranty work. I try to ask myself if something might happen that would exceed the initial cost of the extended warranty. It kinda ticks me off that Honda offers a 2 year warranty in Europe. Things like oil changes and valve adjustments are not covered by warranty. They will probably try to get you to bring it back in for a valve adjustment after a couple hundred miles. (For a hundred or so dollars) I guess it depends on if it would make you feel more secure. To me it's just another angle to get into our wallets. Think about all the customers that never need work done. Nice little profit for Honda.

Good price on the Foreman. You'll like it. It'll climb a tree. Mine has been really reliable and runs great.

blue250r- I feel a little bit better but I still want a 2 year warranty. Can you tell how much your paying for gas? That will probably help me feel better. Here it is around $1.54 a gallon.

Ha Ha

This will definetly cheer you up in fact you will be extatic.

ITs around 77p per litre, there are 3.78 liters in a us gallon (4.56 to a imperial gallon)
At the current exchange rat that is $5.09 a gallon and the thing that pisses us off is we have more oil than we
need over here. But our government is bleeding us dry.We truly are born free taxed to death.

Sh#t im getting miserable now.

and my calculators burned out

blue,

WOW, you are paying the equal to $5.00 a gallon????????? Are you sure that isn't a trick calculator. WOW, that is amazing. We are getting ripped of here in WA State, but I guess I shouldn't complain to much. All i can say is WOW.

Ride Safe
