I am gettin' my Honda Recon es in a day and wanted to know if it handled good? And if it is good w/ mudding because we have a muddy creek and cow pasture in my back yard perfect area and wanted to know... thanks

Yes, the Recon will handle decent. It is also decent in the mud. If you can't go through it, you can go over, under or around it because of it's light weight and smaller size. The stock goodyear tires work well.

As long as you change the oil and you don't beat the heck out of it, the Recon shouldn't break. What are you worried about getting clogged? If you drive in water, once a while you'll need to check the drum brakes for water.
I would get a skid for it's bottom. I had a Maire skid on mine and it worked great. They only cost around $40. or $50. for a Maire. Great for skimming over snow and trees. Shade Tree and I think Rockymountainatv carries Maire skids. I think that Cabelas online even had the Maire skids.

My son turns 9 on New Years Day and was considering on buying him the Recon ES. He has ridden a Polaris 400 very well, but I'm not thrilled about him riding such a heavy atv. The Recon weighs only 414 lbs compared to 600 lbs and he won't out grow it, any suggestions, pretty good first bike eh.....Thanks

Yes, actually it is. I am 14 and i getting one. Perfect for mudding and all that! Most 4-wheelers are too heavy that they tip easily (POLARIS)! It is overall a god and affordable atv
