Default 3 point hitch

has anyone ever used this on an atv? I have a rubicon and found a three point hitch in a cataloge called parts unlimited. It attaches to the frame of the atv making tongue weights exceed 300-350lbs. I am going to be pulling a manure spreader that is probably too heavy for the atv, but if I can solve the tongue weight issue( by putting a caster on the spreader) I think it will pull it just fine. the speader full will be about 2000lbs. I have pulled cars out of snow with the atv before that is why I think it can do it. One other thing, anyone know how to increase torque in the rubicon with out much additonal hp? I think if I increase hp i will just spin tires, not pull more. Any input would be great. thanks

cant help you on the 3 point. Ive never seen one in action on a quad. if you could get a weight distributing hitch deal for the spreader, that would reduce the tongue weight pretty well(this is what guys with small suv's use to haul huge boats that would crush their stock suspension).

on the torque issue, tires make a difference as well as gearing, taller tires might be an option for you- like these ag like tires Here I thought this was a cool setup for an ag application like yours.

Default 3 point hitch

hey those tires are pretty cool. I saw a pair of mudd tires at my local yamaha store that I am thinking about, I don't remember what kind they were, but they were 500 for tires and 400 for the rims. I think they were muddlites What tires can replace what is already on the rubicon? ( so I do not have to buy new rims) I still have not decided on the three point hitch yet. I think I need to talk to the sales rep from the company that makes it. I think it might even be one of the dealers the forums are allowing on the site in the next month or so.
