Just curious if any of you put these sweet looking tires on your quad?

If so, do they ride fairly smooth on hard trails? Or are they best suited for a mud machine only.

When my wife finally lets me buy my new quad, (hopefully within the next 6 months) I will seriously consider putting these tires on.

Are you getting the 28 inch tires? Because I'm leaning towards the Rubicon now and I hope theres enough room for the 28" outlaws inside the fenders. I will be quite dissapointed if they wouldn't fit. But I would suspect that High lifter will find a way to make them fit. (with a lift kit or something)

 

No im getting 25x10-12 for the rear two tires, front two tires will be titan 589's. Ive heard that you will need a lift kit if you get the 28 outlaws.

 

The 28' Outlaws are lighter than most 27' tires and they are 6 ply.

 

The manufacturer states you will need at least a 450cc engine with these tires and most likely a lift kit. I don't think you will find them any lighter than other 27" tires. However, I would like to know the weight comparisons.

 

They will not fit on a stock Rubicon-as the pics show. You will need a rear fender trim and do something about the metal mud flap strut behind the front rire. Just eyeballing it, a 2" lift won't cure the rear problem. Some trimming is needed. The flooboard cannot be moved as it is of one-piece construction. Highlifter is working with the Rubicon they received last week and are trying to get a fix. A lift is supposed to be available in around 30 days. Also, I don't think going to the 10.5 on the back will prevent you from needing to trim as the 10.5 is as wide as most "12" inch tires. The tires in the pics on the front are the 10.5" size and you can see how much they stick out of the fenders. The 28x12.5x12 on ITP magnums are 46 pounds and the 28x10.5x12 on ITP magnums are 40 pounds. My 25x9.5x12 vampires on steel ITP wheels are 36 pounds.

From the ATV Action specs, it looks like the Outlaws weighed more than everything including the 28" Vampire. This was the 12" wide outlaw rather than the 10.5" though. It actually weighed more than the 28" Vamp, but it was on a 7lb. aluminum rim where the Vamp was on a 13lb. steel rim. The difference mounted that way was only 4lbs more for the Vampire on the heavier wheel.

The 28x10.5x12 Outlaw is approximately 10 lbs. lighter than the only comparable-sized competitor tire (a 4-ply rated 28x10x12). Weighing only 31 lbs., the 28x10.5x12 Outlaw is 3-4 pounds lighter than most 27x12 x12 tires. Even the largest 6-ply rated Outlaw, a 28x12.5x12, is 2 pounds lighter than the closest competitors 4-ply rated
