I am in the market for a atv and i am about to pull my hair out. I've been thinking about the 250r or a 300ex. I will be trail riding, riding on gravel roads, jumping, racing, a little mudding, maybe for hunting(not to worried about this) and some easy riding. Any info will be helpful. ALso does anybody have some good atv pages of their own. Thanks

If you are considering a 250R, then why would you also consider a 300EX, this bike is a sloth. A bike that will handle a wide variety of riding situations would be a 400EX. More than enough power and capabilities to do everying you are asking for. It can go real fast when you want it to or go real slow if you want. It can trail ride, or just as easily take a MX track. It can cruise down gravel roads or go through mud bogs. Basically it can do anything. With a 250R, you cant just put around on it because it will load up and foul a plug. Hope this helps man. I know all this from experience.

2000 400EX DG nerfs, DG skid, Works triple rate with res.

you are comparing apples with oranges with those 2 bikes. when ever some 1 ask that kind of ? they are better off with the 4 stroke. i think every body else will agree

If you don't know the difference between riding a 2 stroke and a 4 stroke, get the 4 stroke!!!!!!!!

yep, the 400ex is your best bet.. the 300 is cheaper and has reverse so it may suit a beginner better. Either way both are a ton of fun and can do anything.

If the 400EX is out of your price range right now, a 300EX would be a great bike to have. It is a good all around machine, and will handle almost any condition. If you ever did want to modify the 300EX to gain more power, there are plenty of ways.

I've seen a modified 300EX at the local MX track that had ported and polished heads, a TC Racing top end, and a Supertrapp 3" or 4" Racing Series exhaust. It smoked 400EX's, 250X's and other 300EX's. I was surprised that it was stomping them like that. It blew my mind that that's all the engine work it had. I believe it had one of a rider as well.
