an xr400 cam will add a little bit. however, i would just go ahead and put in a stage 1 hotcam. it will probally be cheaper and it is a little more aggressive so it will give more mid to topend punch. however, you might sacrafice a little down low.

I love my XR cam. it works great for trail riding. no loss of bottem end and it pulls hard all the way up.

BTW it only cost me $25.00 from a guy that upgraded his XR.

You can also throw in the HRC cam for an XR400 and it does quite a bit better than the stock XR cam. One good thing about them is that you're putting Honda parts in a Honda motor. No need to get hardened rockers either. The HRC cam is closer to a Hotcams Stage 2 (which I am currently using).
