I might be getting a CR125R and I'm wondering how fast it is compared to a 400ex. Is it slower or faster?

If I were you I would buy the new CRF250 bike instead of the CR125. The 125 motor is a turd!!! The bike handles pretty well but is way down on power compared to all the other 125's. The new CRF250 fourstroke bike is awesome, I rode one last week and was very impressed, it will give the YZF250 a run for its money.

I have never driven a dirtbike before. We are getting it because some guy happend to be getting rid of it. But what is top speed on it anyways? Can you wheelie with it? Oh and my little brother is 13 and it's especialyl for him.

top speed is in the high 60's to low 70's. It would put a pretty good whoopin on a 400ex unless the top end is in crappy shape or the clutch is slipping. It is quite a bit of bike for a 13 year old unless he has been riding bikes for awhile. But the other 125's are hotter bikes in the power department.

Roostthrower "hit the nail on the head" as to say. Slap a pipe on that CR125 and it's for sure a quick bike if it's in good emchanical condition and will hurt a 400EX.

1st: forget the 400ex, my friend's kx 100 wiped 'em out in stock form

2nd: a 125 dirtbike is really too fast for your brother and really too high too. I would not be getting that until he's 15/16. I would rather look at something slower like an xr100 if he's not experienced or a 80cc dirtbike if he's already or you think he would be a good driver. I'm sure Those peppy 80 would give my 300 a run for it's money. I would be betting on the 80 seriously

That's enought for me. I don't think a 400EX will EVER outrun a 125CC Dirtbike

of yeah - our neighbor had a a suzuki 100cc two stroke dirt bike a few years ago...it would absolutely murder any modded 250x and 300ex around...and im sure it would take a 400ex
