Default my hondas backfireing

what are the causes of my honda backfiring?? what are some of the things that cause it and how can i fix it. it happens after reving then letting the engines rpms drop.

running too lean, either the idle mixture screw, air leak in the intake, or low float level.
could also be air leaks in the exaust system.

if i was you id just pull the carb off and see if anything looks WRONG if you know what i mean!!!!

First thing I would do is replace the sparkplug...sounds too simple, but believe me, it could make a world of difference, especially if you have been using the choke a lot to start it.

man chuck you always go for the easy stuff. we looked at the exhaust nothing there. cleaned the airfilter so thats good. can only be the carb or the plug

i dont know what to tell you to stop the backfiring on your foreman but me and a friend both have rubicons 01 and 03 and both backfire and make a ticking noise. together we have gone thru lots of plugs and had the valves set about 20 times until finally the local dealership gave up.they couldnt find the problem and tryed to say it was normal so they put a 2 yr warrenty on the engine. your bike could be the same thing so take it to a certified machenic if you cant figure it out cause i ruined a motor tryin to figure out stupid stuff like that.
