warning to all 400ex owners

warning to all 400ex owners and mostly all other sport quads, if u take the middle red piece off of the handle bars on the ex and expose the steering stem, be careful to not get water down in the steering stem, it is hollow and has no hole to let out the water, i was not aware of this and i would shove the air hose for the gas tank down there and it would be under water, i did not notice this problem until i would run my quad at full throttle, after coasting in the driveway, i could not get my quad started for 5 min, i then pulled out the hose and it started girggling, i took off my gas tank and found a good amount of water at the bottem, i would say to avoid this, stand your quad vertical and let the water run out every 5 or 6 washings, even if u have the red piece still on, the hose is still directed down the steering stem and there could still be water in it, hope this helps some people before u find out the hard way like i did

This is a rare fast motor, I've raced a well built 416ex with same mods and ran side by sides. If this was a lie, it would'nt be in here.

Hey The stock steering stem does have a hole. I have replaced a couple the hole does get plugged up easy you can take something very small like the size of a small nail or something and clean it out then it will drain. compressed air would probly work. just stand it on end and spray from the bottom. If it has a bunch of water then you might want to try the nail thing first or plan to wash your quad after spraying nasty gas water on it. Hope this helps.
