Default tires and wheels

I am wanting to replace my current stock tires and wheels on my 02 Rancher ES. Not so much because i am unhappy with them but because I REALLY dinged up my wheels on rocks at the Uwharrie Nat'l Forrest. What are the best tires and wheels taking into consideration in order 1. price, 2. reliability 3. performance in multi-terrians. I do not want to bog down my rancher but do want something that will get me thru the occasional mud hole. I use it mostly for hunting and trail riding. I want a tire that is going to work well but not take me to the poor house . Any suggestions would be appreciated

I don't know about the rims but I just put GBC Gaters on my Recon and they are unbeatable. I do alot of mudding and jumping and they still look new. They haven't popped yet and I use my Recon to work on houses. These are 6 ply tires with only one downside, and that is they tear up the lawn alot.

I had ordered from the internet and got MAXXIS mud bugs 25x10x12 for the front and 27x12x12 for the rear and the rims in the rear were too small for the tires. I called the place back and they told me I'd need wheel spacers with 12" rims. What a crock that was. I just got some 12" Foreman rims and they fit just fine.
All for about 310 bucks...
I just don't remember where I got them. Dennis Kirk maybe? I don't know....

go 6 ply for sure. i would go with Holeshots or something on your quad. They make them for 4x4's now. They look awesome and they hook up like you would not beleave
