Holeshots have always been the king of racing tires, but I have been looking at the Maxxis tires also. They must be pretty good because Bill Balance is winning with them. Team Yamaha is using them, at least I know that Bryan Baker is using them. I might try some, I like the way they look. It is also different.

I have xct holeshots, they bit' awesome, they have alot of sidewall and you can tell a big difference over stockers, you can stear more with the trottle. THe downfall is that holeshots wear a little faster than razers, at least from what i know..but if you buy the holeshots, you wont be dissapointed..and i think holeshots are even cheaper??

I have the 20/11/9 6 ply razr's on my 250r and I have 18/11/8 holeshot mx's on my 250r.When i race.but s far as just genarally riding around goes the razr's can't be beat.I like lower profile tires and at the time I did not know U could get 20 inch 6 ply holeshots.I got the razr's and I am not dissapointed they are an excellent tire. They slide great, have great straight line acceleration, and I only got stuck once.If the holeshots are cheaper I would spring for the holehshots my freind who runs a cross country 250r has the holeshot x/c's and he say the only real differencer is the razr's slide easier.

We prefer the Holeshot on our racebikes. Both tires seem to be pretty much equal in straight line traction. Holeshot is slightly taller allowing for better ground clearance. Razr being shorter and more open tread slide slightly better. Front Holeshots will not push as much under hard cornering. We feel the Holeshot sidewall is a little more puncture resistant. Razrs are cheaper if you shop around for the best deal and I think they are weigh slightly less. Holeshots will wear faster than the Razr. Bill is sponsored by Razr and if you only knew what all they gave him you would understand why he runs Razrs. Likewise to make it fair I have to let you know we are sponsored by ITP although I attempt to keep an unbiased opinion.

Understeer.

I have both the Maxxis RAZR 20" rears and ITP Holeshot 20" rears. Personally I prefer the RAZRs because of their ability to slide in the corners as opposed to the Holeshots, although if you have a high HP ride like Brad's, that probably isn't as much of a problem. The RAZRs seem to fit the my style of riding and the HP of my bike better. A person would probably be happy with either choice though....

bpace, Do you run the 23" front xct with the side **** cut off? I know alot of guys are running them now. What advantages does this give you.

Basically, the push is the amount distance you continue to travel in a straight line before the tire provides enough traction for the bike to start turning.
