I currently have a Yamaha Blaster, but want to move on to a larger quad with better suspension. I rode my friends 400ex and really like it but can't afford anything over $3,200. I like the handling of it, the way it takes whoops, and the suspension. How does the suspension of a 250R compare to a 400ex? Does the R handle as well and take whoops as well? Also, I am concerned about getting something that old. Even if it was in decent shape would it always be in the shop? Thanks

Check out 300EX's also for around $2500-3000. The suspension and handling are also very good as is pointed out in all the shootouts it's involved in. Perhaps not as good as 400EX or 250R, but not far behind and better than the rest out there. Electric start and reverse are added bonus.

I have one for sale right now as a matter of fact.

If you find a decent 250r get it. Learn to work on
it yourself as you go. To me thats as much a fun challenge as riding. Me and my buddies get together at least a couple of times a month on Saturday night just to wrench and bench race. It's
fun that way. We have 6 250r's in our group and none of us would rather ride anything else.
