My thoughts on the 2005 trx450r...

Well, I think I herd that it is supposed to be out in late september. But I would have to cheak again. But honda HAS to have that quad out next year. I mean, why would they make a quad for only one year? that's very stupid. But if it happens, it will be for good.

i really dont care when the 2005 450r is comin out because im in love with the 2004 model and for all those idiots who say the yfz is faster suck it because what one the baja 53 minutes ahead of the yfz450? thats right the honda 450r did . and i also seen a few drags bewteen a 450r and a raptor and the 450r easily smoked the raptor by 15+ bike lengths every time so before you praise up yamaha think about it. honda had that 400 ex's that kept upo with 660's and the ds 650 they put an extra 50cc's in an engine and are smokin those now. thats when you know you have a real company when 50 cc's make the difference in a race against a bike with 200 more cc's than you so thanks alot for trying yamaha and your yfz 450 isnt bad but intill you can make an engine like honda u should go back to square one adn think it over and as for the 2005 get ready because the bugs will be worked out baby and it will be the bike for years to come

 

you are goofy. baja has a lot to do with the rider and pit crews, so that comparison is out. The owners and mags have ran the 450's in equal races and the dohc yfz is faster, now you get over it. I have raced yfz's with the timing mod, pipe, jetting, and k&n with a piped raptor and we went 2 and 2, never farther than 1.5 bikelenghts apart. so your 15+ length comment is complete bs as well. just keep your foot in your mouth now and let us other kiddes play in peace.

edit: I just noticed your sig...what kind of engine do you have in your 250ex that makes it faster than any stock big bore quad???

 

FWIW, I talked to the dealer last night and he said June / July is when Honda expects to send 2005 models.

As for why anyone would want one, ummm, they make changes to things they find in the field (you guys beating on them) that they didn't find during internal testing. Subtle small things that you may never notice, but they are there. I myself will be waiting for a 2005.

 

I personally wouldnt think they would come out with the 05s in june/july. I think honda will wait longer to see if anything needs to be changed/refined. The longer the wait i think the better the 05 will be. I guarentee there will be changes, Im not saying it will be something big but most/ all first year atvs will have updates for the next year and so on. This is something you dont want to rush, the more testing the better imo.

 

Just about anything could smoke anything (did that make sense.. lol). Sure a 400ex could smoke a DS but you gotta take into consideration how much time and money it took to get it quicker. Put the same amount of time and money into the DS and you will much different results. Stock for stock, they would be keeping up or maybe even beating them only on tight trails (what mainly the 400ex is made for), race em at the dunes (what mainly the DS is made for) and the DS would beat it with ease. Your comparing apples and oranges.
