I recently sold some stock I bought to gain money for mods, and the check finally came yesterday. I have a cash alotment of 250 bucks to spend on mods (thats after I by my new helmet, boots, and chest protector ,which is for my dirt bike, ATV's are no fun if you are paralized from the waist down, you know)and I wanted to know what mods work the best. I have been looking at a K&N filter, adding another snorkle for better air flow, and also custom making a low-restriction exhaust out of an old suppertrap silencer and my existing head pipe. How do these perform, and are there any other mods for the recon that work well? I need these to smoke my friends Polaris Magnum 325 2x4, because we have equal top speed as it is. (I still win a drag though because of the 5 speed gearbox).

get a K&N and a supertrapp IDS that might push you a little over 250 though

buy a tow rope!.......dual purpose......to slow him down you tie his bike to a tree....and you can tow him home if he breaks down!

those mods can do no harm! try a larger main jet too....

what would happen if you made the bike lighter??....would that make it faster.....would help maintain engine reliablity!.....theres a thought.....hmm......how heavy are the stock steel rims......can you get stock 250x rims (alloys) to go on it?( same stud pattern? price?).....any weight savings....or am i nuts!

go hard man or go home!

yeah and if you do get the K&N and supetrapp get a size 100 main jet that will probaly be right or in the ballpark at least

if possible get a pipe. sporty tires may also work well. a K&N air filter may help too. but a bigger carb can also help. all these things will help the recon. Pipe is best if you can get em for a recon.
