Anyone do a jet kit and/or pipe on this bad boy. I was thinking about the HRC kit - but thats 300 and prob 600 to install at Honda.
If i do a pipe and replace the Jet - then my local motorcycle dealer would prob charge me 40 dollars to do the carb work - thats if I feel lazy about it.

I love the ride of this but wish it had a deeper sound about it.


anyone do either HRC or the PIPE? Seems the only thing Ive heard about differences is that the HRC gives more HP increase than just a pipe ----- Is that true ?

HMF makes a pipe for the R. They look good and sound good.

 

I did the HRC kit and dropped one sprocket on the front. Waiting for some more info on exhausts for the 450R. The 450R is now scary fast. Hope this helps.

 

The HRC kit has new main jet, needle, and clip in it. I will instal it for $500[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]. Its not hard to do the cam install. The rest is all bolt on stuff. If you decide to do it. PM me and I will walk you through it.
I have the stock pipe still, and the HRC kit. I never rode ti stock, so I can't tell you about the difference.

 

HRC kit will provide great benefit by itself. Sure a pipe would be nice, but better breathing at the engine is required first. My vote is HRC kit this month, pipe next month.

 

I hear all the good stuff about the HRC What about a pipe and filter after the kit?

I am going to ride mine a while with just the HRC kit. Eventually I will do a K&N, Header and Muffler (I am partial to FMF, and I doubt they even have anything available yet). There are a lot of things like skid plates, etc, that are a higher priority at this point.

 

Recon - finally someone with some priorities ! ! ! Armor & protection before a dang noisemaker ! ! !
