I agree with RPM, but realy if you think about it you could probably trust the opinion of the guy on fourms like this more cause here are people that spend their own money to buy the quad and keep it for over a month or two like the mags. do to do a test, so you can get the real life out in the real world opinion of a certian four-wheeler not just some over inflated opininon of the guys at the mag. company.

As with everything in the world, people's opinions will always differ. And yes, there can be biased opinions. When you take into account how many different quads a mag person comes in contact throughout a year (not saying that avg joe doesn't get a variety also) take info you're given, and weigh it in with your own opinions. Just about everyone bashes DW, and they deserve it at times. BUT, their shootouts are often correct and as time passes that becomes more obvious. I've been a reader/subscriber since the glory days of the 80's, the dark days of the early to mid 90's, to present and if you look back, overall they do a decent enough job. I'll be first to admit they like to hype up whatever is new, but on average, they do call a spade a spade and now that they've backed away from the 450R as being the best quad ever built people get upset. I don't see why? The shootout they did expanded upon flaws they noticed during the media intro of the 450R at the Texas track. Go back and read that article!

Hey Guido, I remember the 80's and how Honda always won. Gald to see someody else hae a long memory since were talking 15+ years! Definitly old school. Still, back then I think they deserved the win, just like Yamaha does today.

I've read some of the shootouts from the 80s and thought they were kinda silly by today's standards. Sure, they were comprehensive... but no wonder they sounded fictional. I don't really bother reading shootouts from today about machines I don't ride. I read up on their technical info and make judgements myself. When the Suzuki 450 comes out, I'll read everything about it. But 'til then...

Seems clear to me that Honda built the everyman's machine for the weekend warrior that doesn't want to run premium gas or sit on a nice flat seat... Yamaha built a true competitor. God bless blue.
