big gun review
#1
i recently purchased a big gun complete race series for my 300 ex. just wanted to let u all know how this product performs cause i know alot of u ask this. i also put on a uni airfilter and dyno jet kit. the silencer didn't bolt on to the frame because the hole was too small, but that peice is aluminum and u can easily round it a little bigger with a drill. well.. it is alot louded which can be bad if noise is a problem, much much louder than the stock, which is true for all high performance pipes that arnt a "quite series" or whatnot. as for performance, I imidiatly felt more response and low end exceleration. once i got to the trail that i ride on, i opened 'er up. on a hill that i can usually only go up in 3rd gear, i made it up in 4th easily. i couldn't really tell how much top speed difference there was. over all this is a good pipe, u have to be carfull that ur right leg doesn't rub against the pipe this happend to me a few times and burnt the side of my pants but u can tell when u hit it because it vibrates on ur leg and imediatly move ur leg.(dont know what im gonna do in the summer )

yep, on a 400ex with the spark arrestor in it flowed worse than stock. without the spark arrestor i think it made 3/10's of a horsepower more than stock. my friend had one and it was just good for lowend power and not much else.

well i dunno i can feel alot more low end power, maybe it wasn't jetted right or somthin. i dont see how any aftermarket pipe could create worse results, there all the same concept. Well if u say it runs better without the spark arrester, do u think i should take it out? or is there that much of a threat that a spark will come out?
