Default honda rancher transmission/neutral sensor

I own a rancer 350 2x4. Recently the neutral/reverse sensor has been acting starnge. sometimes indicating the wrong gear from what gear it is actually in. Now I cannot get it cranked b/c i cannot get the neutral sensor green light to come on. Is this a gear/transmission problem or something electrical. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

If your transmission is shifting normally, it is most likely just a sensor problem. I am not sure where the sensor is, but I would find it and adjust/replace it. There is a way to override the sensor, so you can start in any gear. I would think, just find the sensor, and connect the wires leading to it. That may be a short term solution for you.
