I would like to get the 300ex to set up as a race qaud . can this bike make some horsepower with mods?

You can always get good horsepower out of almost anything as long as you have some $$. If you do get it, you could get it bored over, pipe/silencer, filter, carb, cam, gearing, these are just a few things you might want to look into.
