Default 400ex some help

I have a 02 400ex and i need some info on what to do for this season.
I havent done anything to it at all since i got it from the dealer about two years ago
Is doenst have that many miles on it it hasnt been used much because we lived in the suburbs but now i plan on using it a lot since we live up in northern michigan, It has also sat for a long time without being started and i know its not going to start very easy. I know i havent been taking care of it that well of and that is going to change. but my question now is what should i do to it to make sure i can get a good season out of it? And any tips on cleaning it would help also. One other thing is that it has a flat tire and im going to replace it but should i get differnent tires all around/wheels? And i also wana put a exaust system on it which one is the best?

Drain the gas. Fill with fresh 92 octane fuel. Clean and oil the air filter. Charge battery. Run it for a couple of minutes, then change the oil and oil filter. Might want to change the sparkplug while you're at it.

If you're going to let it sit for extended periods of time, treat the fuel with a fuel stabilizer, such as StaBil, or Sea Foam.

Dido Quadfather.....Draining the fuel is a must...replace with new..........Go and get you a new K&N air filter and outerwears....oil filter and some Thumper oil is best in the 400ex......If your looking for a pipe....Depending on the sound you are looking for...I loved my HMF slip on I use to have ... It sounds like a harley...and the power increase is noticable...The WB R-4 is also nice but if its not an R-4 I wouldnt go with White Brothers

Agree with all of the above. You may also be interested in a White Brothers E-series slip on exhaust. It has plates so you can fully tune the exhaust and control the sound level. Forget about new tires and wheels all around. Just repiar what you got and ride on...

I used that paint on my 400ex and my friends Raptor. Works awesome. Does not scratch easy. It's not ugly just make sure you buy clear coat also. I'll post pictures of it today. It holds up to a pressure washer too. I'm very impressed with the paint. My friend's raptor has flames on the rear fender (i designed the flames he painted em') and I painted flames on my 400ex's front fenders. Just make sure you use the nice expensive thin tape. I used masking tape=bad idea.

Thanks, Im thinking of painting it black with some red Acents on it but i might just keep the red and do some flames or somthing like that. If anyones got any ideas let me know, or pictures.

What about those K&N filters and jets? And pipe recomendations?

One other thing, What would i have to do to my 400ex to be able to get it to ride well in the trails *in some mud and stuff* It is pretty good stock but i think it can be better, or maybe its my driving skills.. What would help it preform better?
