240blaster vs 320ex vs 400ex
My paycheck would be on the Blaster, just because a properly built 240 will put just over 40 hp to the ground and with it weighing 320lbs has an advantage. Never seen a 300ex with a big bore kit so i'm not sure. Looking at the power to weight ratios the blaster wins easily.
320 lbs 40 hp = 8lbs per hp on the blaster
377lbs 30 hp = 12.3 lbs per hp on the 400ex
380lbs 27 hp = 14lbs per hp on the 300ex
but thats just guessing on the 300 ex
So I dunno, depends on gearing and stuff like that. Looks like blaster all the way.

There are alot of places that claim a 240 blaster makes 40hp. Given its not just throw this piston and cylinder on your bone stock blaster and you have 40 hp.
If you had that kit with mild port work, a bigger carb, aftermarket reeds, air filter, and aftermarket exhaust and a few other little things it's totally possible.
Most of the stuff I mentioned above is part of the usual 240 kit.
Consider that a 250r with just mild mods can make 40-50 hp its entirely possible.
One more thing, stock raptors are extremely anemic.
Modified are fun!
At Haspin Acres some kid had a 240 blaster that was eating piped banshees, 250r's, all 400's, predators and most every raptor.
Took a beefy 370 long rod banshee and a built raptor to even beat the kid. YZ426f put a hurt on him too.
Light weight and big power = fast
It takes a Yamaha to beat a Yamaha

Tell ya what, I just put my kid's Blaster together, a stock bore with wiseco piston, ported & head mod by Eric Gorr, FMF pipe, reeds, aftermarket air filter, jetted properly etc. That little thing rips. I would not be surprised if a properly set up 240 with carb to flow enough air would eat up a piped 400EX. Heck our stock bore Blaster would be close if not pull it out.
