i have a couple hundred $ saved and am looking at either a new mild cam or a high compression piston for my 400ex. i was wondering wat u guys thought would be the better buy for the money. also i wanted to no wat is the highest compression piston i could safely run on 92 octaine below 4000ft. wich of these 2 would make better power increases? any brand suggestions?

www.magnoliatractorinc.com - Get the Stage 2 Cam....$127 shipped.
www.rockymountainatv.com - Get the Wiseco Std. Bore Piston(10:1, safe on pump gas)....Around a $100.
www.rockymountainatv.com - Tusk Top End Gasket Kit....Around $20.
I'm assuming you have a aftermarket exhaust system. Add the mod's above you will be surprised how much power you gain.

i recommend running a 10.5 or 10.8:1 je or ross piston. you can either run stock bore, 406 or 416. well, these are what i would recommend for the first time anyways. for these bores i would run a stage 1 hotcam. my friend has one and it is just as quick as my bike with a stage 2 cam. my bike (406) just needs to be at a high rpm for the power to be there. his 406 makes good power with the stage 1 everywhere and he runs dead even with me at top speed. if your running a 416 or larger, i would get a stage 2 cam. with either of these cams, you don't want to run hardened rockers as they will eat the cam away over time.
