ok does the 04 rancher es have a digital speedometer? or does it just have the numbers of what gear your in?? does the lower year models have a digital speedometer?(00-03) thats the only reason im looking at the es if it has the digital speedometer.

Not sure about the rest but my 01 Rancher has a digital speedometer, no ES on the bike though.

Starting in 02 I believe any ES has the full digital package. My 02 Manual does not have a speedo. I didn't think the 01 manuals had a speedo but if someone has one then I guess they did. My 01 parts manual only shows it for the E model, not the M. Seems there were some changes all over between the 01 and 02 ranchers.

However in your sig you state you're saving for a 04 Rancher AT. According to the honda web site they come with the electronics package.

Yes, I have an 01 manual shift Rancher with a digital speedo fropm the factory. I have heard someone mention that the digital speedo is standard on Canadian bikes, and not on the US ones (I'm talking manual shift in 2001)....not sure if that person made it up or what.

 

My 03 hs the digital gauges as well.

 

the 2004 rancher ES 4x4 has a didgital package which includes speedo, trip, gear indicator, odo and hour meter.
the 2004 manual shift model does NOT have a digital package. It has indicator lights on a generic dashboard with no speedo. I just rode them both on monday.
