Default Honda TRX 350 ES or AC 400 4X4 ACT?

Looking at purchasing my first ATV and was wondering what way I should go. I will mostly be using it to hunt down logging roads but to explore into untracked territory as well. The prices of the AC 400 4X4 ACT and TRX 350 are very similar. The AC comes with a 2500 lb winch and 2 years warranty. Honda 6 months and no winch. Althought the AC is almost 100 lbs heavier than the Honda it has 55 cc more. Which bike will have more power compared to weight? How will the ride compare? Honda's have been around forever and AC are relativley new are they reliable like a Honda bike? Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

I had the exact problem you do now. I went and bought my first new 4 wheeler and it came down to the same Arctic Cat your looking at and the Rancher ES. I ended up with the Rancher and I'm very happy with my choice. I can tell you how I like my Rancher but since I didn't buy the Arctic Cat I can't really say anything bad about it. I got a plow with my Honda and it pushes snow like a dream. I also bought my wheeler for deer hunting and it is an awesome machine. I have over 300 miles in ROUGH territory on it without one problem. I can't get the thing stuck if I try. I can drive right thru the woods cutting a new trail to put up a tree stand. I'm talking about going over logs, boulders, riding right over small trees about as big around as my wrist. I have a friend that had a Rancher and he showed me how his went thru the woods before I bought mine and I was sold. No radiator out front like the Polaris. I've had 2 friends ruin the radiators on their Polaris trying to fallow me. I had a Kawasaki 650 Prairie for only 20 minutes before breaking the front CV going to my tree stand. I traded it for my Rancher. I pulled 2 Yamaha's out of the wood's yesterday. 2 kids on 2 wheel drives tried to go into my woods and wondered up to my doorstep. I can't tell you that the Arctic Cat is a bad machine, all I can tell you is that the Rancher is a GREAT machine and I think you would be very happy with it.
