Keep your weight forward and you don't have to pin the throttle, just ease into it quickly. If your quad has enough torque try taking off in second gear. You may need to slip the clutch a little till you get going, then get into the throttle. Just keep practicing eventually you will get used to it.

everyone has their own technique. i like to sit forward towards the tank. i also let the clutch out enough that it wants to roll. however, i hold the foot brake so it doens't roll. i also rev it up a little bit. sometimes i prefer to start in second gear depending on the conditions. just practice a bit.
