I have a 440ex with extensive mods to the head. I was wondering if there's a kit to convert my electric start to a kick start. The batery is being a pain in the but when trying to start it. I have to use jumper cables until it warms up and then it starts alright.

 

Me and my friend want ot convert our 400ex's to kick. I read some where i think it might have been here that scence the xr400 engine is the same and thats kick start. you can get the crank case cover off a xr400 and the starter gears and kick starter and after you removing the eletric starter and assembly it should fit in perfect. you also have to mod. the brake pedal and fender scence the kick will be backwards instead of forward. We are having a very experianced mecanic put it in. Ifyou do it it will save a good 40 lbs or more. Hope this helped
