If you clean your air filter with gas you must right away wash it with soapy water to get the dirt out. The gast only get the oil and some of the dirt. To get all of the dirt, you must wash it with type of soap and water. Let it dry, don't use compressed air or you might tear the foam with the high pressure air.

I would not recommend using Gas, especially if you are going to wash it with soap and water afterwards. I use PJ1 Foam Air Filter spray cleaner. The stuff works great!! You spray it on the filter and wait 15 minutes. Then hose the filter off with water and it is clean. You can then wash in soap and water if you want to but it is not needed. Then I use PJ1 Foam Filter Oil (Super Tacky). This stuff is also the best I have found so far. I have tried Maxima and Honda oil and I like the PJ1 the best. Good luck!
