Cleaning Air Filter
#1
My quad is down for now, and while i wait for my parts to come in, i figured i'd do all the maintaince now. I have the whole big manual and it says to clean the air filter with a solvent. I was wondering if there was any good household product that is a solvent because i don't really wanna go out and buy some expensive thing from honda that i don't need. Thanks in advance.

dawn dish soap. just get the filter soaked, then dump a line down the side of the filter, and scrub with your thumb where you soaped. bout an inch at a time all the way around. works great for me. remember to oil the filter when your done.

Yeah I have done this and it has worked pretty well but most of the time I use just a little kerosine and that will get them clean faster than anything, I have heared that it is not good for them but I have been doing it for abot 4 years on the same filter and it looks good as new and clean as a button.
