Default Well, I did it!

Just got off the phone with the dealer and placed the order for a Rancher AT 400, a red one, no GPS). Pick it up tomorrow morning, OTD $5750. Feelings swinging wildly from excitement to "should I really have done this?"

Considered the Bomb Outlander 400 HO, Kodiak 400, and AC400. Went with Honda for it's proven reliability and because I've been riding my buddies 01 Foreman for the last 6 months and like it. Got the Rancher for some light work such as hauling mulch, firewood, and other yard materials and to play on trails. It should easily be able to handle all that and more!

Yes, it's 2/4WD and Auto/ES, the MSRP on one is $5,999. Around here you are lucky to get one OTD for anything less than $6300. I am driving 60 miles to get this one, there are 4 other dealerships within 20 miles of my house that wouldn't budge below MSRP let alone match the price I got. I'm basically paying the list plus tax, no docs, prep, or destination. I'm sure they are still making some decent profit on the sale (and they should) but I don't feel too bad about where I ended up.

Congrats on your new Rancher, you will be glad you did... I have had mine now for a couple months and have no complaints at all. Wish I could of got the same OTD price you did but no one out here in CA was willing to negotiate much. I paid abot $250 more. Now you will want to spend the money you saved on things like a winch, aftermarket tires and wheels. I put 26" Dirt Devils on and am happy with them, no real noticeable power loss, and they perform well...better than the stock tires!
Enjoy!!

HwyFlyer

I have the 329cc 04 rancher. Did you have to lift for the taller rubber? OEM 24 inchers almost close to rubbing in stock form. Love the stick busters..gotta get some of those! Where did you order wheel/tire kit?
