250R vs 450R
#1
Has anyone out there with a 250R ridden the new 450R? I'm just curious as to how they stack up to one another. I'll never sell my 250R because there is nothing like riding a 2-stroke but I've heard that the 450R is pretty impressive.

I rode KGB's 450r down at LS, Utah. I was really surprised with it. I liked it a lot. It had amazing torque and was fun to ride. It seemed to sit up higher than my R and I felt a little unstable. Unlike the R, it has a more sensitive throttle. We never went head-to-head in a race so I can't tell you that. If I were to buy a new 4-stroke it would definately be the 450R. It's a great ride.

That is one of the reasons I won't sell my R....I just don't like the feel of these new quads. Even before I modified my quad the 250R just feels a lot bigger, wider, and more stable even though it is about 20 pounds lighter than the 450R.

I raced my brothers ESR 310R in 100 yards not much room but I beat him by a bike and a half.....He just put a lone star +3 swing arm extention on and I think he was not getting enough traction. He had hole shot 20 inch tires running a 13-37 gearing. We race on very hard dirt with a sandy grit on it.... I will give him the benefit but none the less he was pretty impressed with my 450R. I was running Ohsu radials 20 inch 13-38 gearing HRC kit K&N air filter.....Oh he had 6psi in rear tires which I told him that was way too much, I found that out when we got back home----I ran about 4psi in rear

I lost to a new 450 that was stock with baffle pulled and some new razr's on the rear. It was on some loose gravel and I couldn't hook up.
I think it still would have won if we were on pavement but I was impressed with it. However I was even more impressed with the yzf450.
