Possible with 4x4? Technique?

 

Stand on the back rack or get a good sized bump. I was doing them on my friends ES standing on the back rack and shifting in a wheelie was never so easy. Of course, one time when i came down without having a clutch, the engine breaking kinda stopped me and i went right over the bars. I think my tooth went through my lip.

 

My father weighs around 265 and he just leaned back, hit the gas, and pushed the button.

 

i have done this by just standing on the back rack of mine and pulling really hard on the bars..it is hard though without a bump

 

Have any of you ever drag raced using a long wheelie bar to keep your front end down? Improves race times.

 

it can be done, i have a buddy that pulls wheelies on his Rancher ES all the time, doesnt stand on the rack, nor does he use a bump. He just leans back and pulls hard [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] he can maintain it for a while too

 

if u dont care about ur quad, sit on it, put it in first, hold up the shifter with ur foot(cant do it with a button shift (es) ) and rev it up and drop the shifter, its like poping the clutch in 2nd and u will go up very very easily, its just rough on ur transmission and clutches

how ever, my friends have done it for over a year now, and nuthing has gone wrong with anything on it yet, but it cant be good for it

 

You know, that's what I thought , too... I was tutoring a newbie on how to ride...I said "shift in first, then press the gas..." newbie pressed the gas then shifted into first...woo hoo! Didn't sound too good on the internals! Now that we are on this topic...why in the world do so many quads NOT have a clutch? Whose idea was it anyway? I LOVE clutching! Just curious why manufactuers build the bikes this way? User friendliness or actual beneifits?
