If you ride real agressive dont expect too much out of the front brakes. I wore them out in a day when I was riding on an MX track. the rear brakes will last a lot longer tho.

The Recon is an awsome bike and I just tricked mine out with a whole bunch of mods and got at least 57 mph and dropped about 40 lb off it with aluminum rims all around.

Aluminum rims would take some weight away, but not 40 lbs.

250Thumper, just curious, how did the recon do on the MX track? How big where the jumps? I know it has no chance against the ex or anything, but I think it might do pretty good for a 250 utility.

it did pretty good for a utility bike. the jumps were about 7 1/2 feet tall (im guessing) with an almost vertical lip. If you can stand bottoming out the shocks alot you can do pretty good. Id put it up against anything with racks.

I would, too. I took my Recon to the track and had a blast! I'm going to put on ITP rims and Holeshot XCT tires. Soon to do a K&N filter and a supertrapp pipe. I can't wait to try it on the track then! All brakes all original.
