id say an exhaust is a must... then look into an intake... (esr has a nice one, www.esr250.com)
jet kits arent needed... my buddy just changed his MJ and it runs great.
then shock covers because all those yfz's in front of you will really ding them up...

I wouldn't get the HRC kit just yet. I've heard it definetely increases power but wait another month or two and an aftermarket company will come out with a great kit and will probably charge less than Honda. The only thing to look into is wether or not an aftermarket kit will void your warranty.......the HRC most likely wouldn't. I have an '86 250R so I haven't had to deal with warranty claims in quite a while!

this is atv connection right ? well since i have the god giving right to be here i just gave my opinion since there is not very many after market parts for the 450r yet . it was a joke man .i probably would have bought one as well if it hadnt been delayed like it did get. i spent a long time reading and checking into all the specs on both quads befor i bought one .and i have to say in my opinionhave fun onthe 450r heck i would it is a great trail bike and with mods comming out it will be a respectable racer....
but i wish i had my old 250R back sure do miss it.

From what I have been told by several builders the way to go is the Hrc cam and carb needle with an aftermarket exhaust. I know Sparks is offering a cam and also believe hot cams is working on one or offering it now. the top three pipes I 've been told about are the Sparks, tc racing, and Wb carbon fiber series. Wb is the most expensive, and the Sparks is the most affordable.
I personally am doing what 1bad suggested and waiting a few months to see what the aftermarket is going to offer. FST and Duncan are both offering big bore kits. Duncans range from 450- 505cc's and cost is 1900-2500. Dont know what FST is charging.
If you cant wait I would suggest a pipe, cam, k&n, and maybe removin the airbox.
A local builder here has pulled 46 rwhp, so far this is the best without headwork that I have read.
