Default what's up with the Rinny?

I was travelling with a 650 rinnie and when it got stuck in snow it spin all 4? What's up with that? Is it just because all tires were high and dry?

My Foreman always spins all 4. I suppose this will get another argument started.

I've seen 4mans do it off and on but typically one doesn't spin unless you installed a locker, that rinny was spinnig all 4 all the time without front brake applied... we need to wait and see the mud says to the rinny. Buzzman more than likely your front brakes are adjusted too tight and are always on; unless honda changed the forman this year too. What's your top speed?

I don't think the brakes are too tight. It rolls pretty easily. I've heard that Honda changed the front differential in 2002. Top speed is 49, although the Mudlites throw the speedometer off about 10%, so it's actually doing a little more than that. I've been meaning to check it with my GPS, but haven't done it yet.

Just for the record ,I've gone by many belt driven machines including (kaw650,700)that were stuck in the mud&water and even pulled a few out with my RINNY.

I too get stuck in the slop, but yes my tires are spinning.

Because the front differential is a LIMITED-SLIP. It has little "cam" type things in it (instead of clutches) which lock the front wheels together so they both spin if there is little stress on them. But if one wheel is lodged in between 2 logs and the other is free, the free wheel will spin. Because the "cams" don't have enough bite to them to completely LOCK together both front wheels. It makes for easier steering in 2wd and 4wd both. It works for me, so that's all I care about.
