Choke Question???
#1
I have a rancher AT. I have a question about the choke. When it is warm outside like 70 degrees I pull out the choke but it never goes to a fast idle it just kind of starts it and thats it. I tried starting it this morning with the choke fully out and it went up to fast idle pretty quick. It was 45 degrees when I tried starting it this morning. Is this normal or should it fast idle it any time when I pull the choke cable fully out? The quad only has 70 miles on it. Thanks for any inputs.

There is no mechanical "fast idle" per se built into your carb. There is a fuel enrichener and some circuitry in your carb which will allow it to fast idle under certain conditions. Mainly, if the temperature is cold enough. In other words, it's just a simple carb, not like fuel injection which monitors half a dozen different conditions and adjusts the fuel duration accordingly. At 70F, the mixture at full choke is too rich to fast idle. It may however, fast idle to a certain extent at partial enrichener settings (half choke). It doesn't sound like anything is wrong with your wheeler.
