Foreman front bearings ??
#1
Hey !
I just removed my two front drive axles, and I saw 2 bearings in each of my Front Hubs ..
I didn't found any reference about these bearings in my repair manual ..
Are these bearings permanently installed in the hubs ? ? ?..
Do I need new hubs to change them ?!
How can I tell if the bearings are right .. . ?
They are loose (I mean, the part that turn), and I can wiggle them from side to side, but they don't turn rough ...
Thank s!

My bearings are about the same and I beleive they are fine. But I want to replace mine with sealed bearings. Did you have to remove the Knuckle from the ball joints to remove the rear bearing? Were they a pain to remove?

Hmm no, I did not removed the bearings ...
I just tested them from inside the hub . ..
But that's my question, can we remove these bearings or they are sold as a unit with the hub !??? ..
When I test my rear bearings, I know they do not move from side to side, they are stiffer . . .
By Rear Bearings, I mean the bearings of the BACK end of the atv, not the second bearing of the front hubs . . .
Anyways . .

Im not sure about the rear axle. My has not shown any signs of wear. I have been told the rear axle bearing is housed in a separate race or ring. There are a few messages about the rear in these forums. I figured out the front which only has one bearing for each wheel. The bearing is on the wheel side of the knuckle and is held in by a snap ring then a seal. I bought the Highlifter sealed bearings from my local Honda dealer. See RONNIE'S ATV PARTS site which is advertised in ATV CONNECTION. It has diagrams of the FOREMAN and other ATV's.

I just replaced my front bearings today. I had to remove the knuckles in order to beat out the bearings. There is a seal or dust cover on the back of the knuckle. the bearing is installed from the front of the knuckle and is held in by a snap ring and then a seal. But you do have to remove the knucle (spindle). Use a large socket to knock out the bearing from the back after you remove the outside seal and snap ring.
