Ok before anyone says it....I'm not buying a 400ex. I have a 1995 300ex that I just picked up and I'm looking to hop it up for some local racing and trail riding. Ive been looking around quit a bit at the postings and have gotten some good info so far. But now I would like to know ya'alls opinion.
What is the best bang for the buck on engine up grades?
I've already done the basics of exhaust, jetting, filter/airbox and sprocket swaps. Question is .......
Better to go big bore kit or high compression?
How worth while are hot cams and with what other mod do they work best?
Are performance CDI's worth it?
Would a 400ex carb work for me or is it the same? What about after market carb?
Trying to keep engine cost under $500 I can do most work myself and have a buddy with a machine shop.
Also if anyone have some helpfull performance info or parts links to help me out with I would appreciate it.
